Boston Globe Reports One Bombing Suspect in Custody and Search Continues For Second Suspect

UPDATE: At 3:30 a.m. CDT - Boston Marathon Bombing "suspect #1 is reportedly dead from a gunshot wound resulting from a horrendous shoot out with police. "Suspect #2 is on foot and tactical teams are searching for him door to door.

The Boston Globe is reporting that the two men involved in the shooting and killing of a MIT Campus Police officer are the two suspects in the Marathon bombing. The officer was hit with multiple bullets and pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

It began around 10:30 p.m. with the killing of a MIT police officer. on the campus of the University near Boston. There was a report of a carjacking in the same general area, that led to a police chase into Watertown, MA. The chase ended with a LOT of gunfire, and small explosions. A Transit Police officer was wounded and is in critical condition. Police do have one suspect in custody, and are still searching for the second. It is believed that the authorities are working from information received after releasing new photos of the suspects earlier in the day.
