Body of Bobbie Stringham Found In North Platte River
Casper Police have now confirmed that the body of 36-year-old Bobbie Stringham has been recovered from the North Platte River.
Stringham’s body was pulled from the river sometime after 3pm on Sunday March 10th, near the North Casper Soccer Complex, by Casper Fire EMS crews, who were out walking the river banks at the time.
They say the body was about two feet under water and still under ice at the time it was found.
Stringham disappeared nearly two months ago.
Police and rescue crews were called to the North Platte River near Center Street early in the morning of January 19th, to investigate a report of a woman screaming.
Witnesses say Stringham was in the river, clinging to ice, but went under before rescue personnel could reach her.
After weeks of searching by local authorities, her family hired a private diving team to attempt to find her body, but they were unsuccesful.
The Natrona County Coroner’s Office is conducting an autopsy.
