I know it's going to be hard for some of you die-hard summer people to wrap your mind around the colors of fall when the weather is quite warm, there's time for a few more trips to the lake, and Damn-it fall and winter can wait. Using the knowledge gained over the past 12 years I share the five best Place in Casper to view the change of season, as the leaves become a palate that would make the masters smile.

Washington Park is where we'll start. This park is blessed with some really nice big older trees. Different species of trees call this park home, and adds to the colorful canopy that you will encounter in just a few weeks. There are play grounds for parents of smaller kids. Grills are available for a fall afternoon BBQ, or if you just want to find a quiet area and read a book. Keep Washington Park in mind as you look for a place to chill on an Autumn afternoon in Casper, Wyoming.

    Garden Creek Road

    Get Directions Here

Garden Creek Road is certainly one of the most beautiful drives in town. Driving south (towards the mountain) where Poplar Street ends, and Garden Creek Road begins drive one and seven tenths miles, you'll find a small pond on your left surrounded by trees that make a perfect picture when the foliage is at it's peek of color. There are no places to park, however if careful you can navigate a place to pull over and take in this magnificent view with the city as a back drop.

    Amoco Park

    Get Directions Here

Amoco Park is blessed with an abundance of mature trees making it an easy choice at number three. Picnic tables are available if you desired to have a cookout, the North Platte runs just a few hundred feet away to the south. There's something special about this park on a breezy afternoon (not crazy winds) with the river rolling by the sound of traffic on First street, it's not a place to read a book, but you can enjoy the pathway whether you choose to ride a bike, jog, or take a leisurely walk with someone special. The Tate Pumphouse is within walking distance for some food and drinks.

    Morad Park

This is one for all who love to walk their dog. There are spots along the pathway that allows your dog to frolic and be an animal. As you walk along the Platte River Parkway, that runs through the heart of this park, making it an ideal place to enjoy the colors of fall. If you notice in the picture some of the leaves have already begun to change their colors. It's an awesome sight to see as you stroll along enjoying life with the sound of the North Platte and your thoughts. It doesn't matter which direction you choose to go, there are many sights to see lots of trees along the path. Enjoy your walk through some of the cities best and most colorful real estate.

    Beartrap Meadow

    Get Directions Here

Time to hop on Casper Mountain Road and ride to my most desired spot to watch the fall foliage. Beartrap is known to everyone and we all have our reasons to just go hang out there. A blanket some reading materials, or just that one person you can chill and chat up about life. The peacefulness of being in the tree line just experiencing the beauty and the fresh clean air seem to take all the cares and worries away, if only for a little while. The meadow is dazzling when the Aspens are getting ready for winter. It won't be long now and I hope this helps all of you who enjoy the colors of fall.
