Aspiring criminals listen up: If you’re planning on robbing a bank, it pays to make sure the teller can read your threatening note.

According to ‘Good Morning America,’ when accused Delaware bank robber Thomas Love passed a note to a teller demanding money, the teller found his handwriting to be so poor that she couldn’t decipher the message. She then surprised an anxious Love by asking the hapless thief to rewrite it.

Flustered, Love fled the scene, but was arrested later for attempted robbery (and, most likely, bad penmanship).
