Casper is a lot of things, but a "big city" is not one of them. Because of this, we miss out on a lot of 'festivals' and what-not that most big cities have. We've got Beartrap Summer Festival, and NicFest. The good news is, both of these events rock and remind me exactly how much I love living in our humble city. Check out these pics from the first day of the 2012 NicFest at the Nicolaysen Art Museum.
As a man, nothing makes me feel like less than...um...a man than by watching firemen run, climb, lift, and more. So imagine how effeminate I feel whilst watching the Downtown Throwdown. Firefighters from all over came to Casper to demonstrate who exactly is the alpha-male. They all proved themselves worthy, but there is still one more day to determine who is THE firefighter of firefighters. Check out these pics from the first day of the Downtown Throwndown.
Father's Day is upon us, and it's a chance to celebrate the person who, for many of us, is the most important man in our lives'- our father. Those of us who were lucky enough to have a father around most of the time can probably share a lot of stories, jokes, wisdom, that our dad's have passed onto us. These are just 5 things that I learned from mine.
Memorial Day is almost upon us, and with it comes the overwhelming desire to get ouside- to go to the lake, or a park, or the mountain and crack open a beer and enjoy the weather that the final days of spring can bring.
Unfortunately, we live in Wyoming and the weather is...fickle, to say the least. That being said,we've come up with five activities for you to do that will still allow you to enjoy Memorial Day and everything that goes a long with it, without having to deal with Mother Nature. So we present our Top 5 Bad Weather Memorial Day Activities.
We live on front porches and swing life away. We get by just fine here on minimum wage. If love is a labor, I'll....Ok. For some reason, I'm feeling nostalgic and like quoting overly-played graduation songs. That's what happens when you spend the past two days photographing high school graduations. And, much like Kelly Walsh and Roosevelt, Natrona County High School's class of 2012 proved that if our future is in these young people's hands', it's in good hands.
Another day, another graduation. Parents, teachers and friends gathered to witness the 2012 graduating class of Roosevelt High School proudly take home their diplomas. Tears were shed, speeches were given, futures were contemplated. Awards were handed out to those students who went above beyond the call of duty, but every graduate proved that they are on the right track to achieving all that they want to achieve. Check out these pics from graduation.
As we go on, we remember all the times we had together. Yes, that was a Vitamin C reference. No, most of the Kelly Walsh graduating class of 2012 have no idea who that is. That aside, congratulations to the 2012 KW Grads.
There are many things to love about living in Casper- the community, the mountain, two Wal-Marts. But there is one thing that most of us can agree on about our great city- we hate the wind! It messes up our hair, throws sand in our eyes, scares the heck out of us when we're driving next to a semi truck and we see it start to rock, etc. Because of this, we have come up with 5 tips for avoiding the wind.
Memorial Day takes place on May 28 this year, and if you're looking for the places that you can and cannot spend your day of remembrance, you've come to the right place. We've got the list of places that are open and closed in Casper on Memorial Day.
Music fans came together at The Wonderbar to show support for local music and cancer awareness on Friday during a 12-hour marathon. Artists included John Kirlin, Chad Lore, Dang Ol' Boys, Sue Morrison and more.
