Fire crews out of Washington and Oregon took over management of a fire burning north of Newcastle Monday morning. The Oil Creek fire was last assessed at 3100 acres on Sunday, but Fire Information Officer, Chuck Turley, says the fire grew significantly in the last 24 hours with prevailing winds pushing the fire north and away from town.
