I had the honor of being at Rocky Mountain Oncology's Cancer Survivor day on Friday, where I met the most impressive group of 9 and 10 year old kids. Tyler Kessel, Ethan Green, Danielle Sharp, Andrew Sharp, Reagan Camp, Thomas Sullivan, Bryce Hebert, and Caelynne Hebert.
Casper is proud to host the best with the 2014 Wyoming State Games getting underway this weekend. The Ramada Plaza Riverside is serving as host hotel and more sports have been added this year. Directors are also seeking your input to add even more!
I have some fond memories of fishing with my dad. The Community Recreation Foundation offers up the chance for Casper kids (families) to make some memories with a free fishing day on Saturday, June, 7th at Yesness Pond.
Wyoming State Games and Special Olympics Wyoming are partnering for the Annual 5K and 10K Fun Run/Walk. Registration will be at Crossroads Park, Saturday, June, 7th starting at 8am. Proceeds from both runs will be donated to Special Olympics Wyoming.
The Casper Antiques & Collectors Club presents their 75th sale, this weekend at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds. This is the oldest quality show in town. Hours are Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is $2 for adults, kids under 12 are free.
The Casper Municipal Golf Course is the sight of the 13th Annual Ron DePaolo Memorial Golf Tournament. Shotgun start 7:30 am Saturday, June 7th. Proceeds will help support the Allen H. Stewart Lions Camp for the Visually Impaired and a $500 Ron DePaolo Memorial Scholarship for a NCHS student The scholarship has an emphasis on students who were on a high school wrestling team.
They've been called "The Greatest Generation" of Americans. The term "The Greatest Generation" originated from Tom Brokaw's 1998 book of the same name. In the book, Brokaw wrote, "it is, I believe, the greatest generation any society has ever produced." He argued that these men and women fought not for fame and recognition, but because it was the "right thing to do."
Music, comedy and the vocal magic of ventriloquist Wayne and his sidekick Wingnut will be on display at the Natrona County and Mills Public Libraries. The first show is Monday, June 2nd at the NCPL. These shows are family friendly and free. Tickets will be handed out 1 hour prior to each performance.
