A few snow showers will linger mainly over the mountains of southern Wyoming today. Otherwise, cold temperatures and clearing skies from north to south can be expected. Casper will be mostly sunny, breezy and not as cold on Thursday.
A strong cold front will move through the Cowboy state today in the northwest to southeast direction. This system will push snow, wind and colder temperatures across the northwest, then into central Wyoming tonight.
In comparison with the past several days, the wind will be much calmer across the Cowboy State today. Most of eastern Wyoming will experience west to northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph. In Casper, today’s wind will be mainly from the west to southwest.
Winds will be strong and gusty across Casper and much of the state today. Gusts of 50mph and more can be expected along portions of I-80 and I-25 with gusts to 45mph here in the Casper area. Snow and wind will develop in the western mountains today with snow likely in western and southern mountains tonight through Friday.
A passing Pacific storm will bring snow to Casper and much of Wyoming today. Small accumulations are likely for most lower elevations with several inches or more falling in the mountains. Here in the Casper area we could see three or four inches.
Casper will be mostly dry today and this evening but mountain snows will be on the increase. Brisk winds, colder temperatures and snow showers for Casper and most of the state tonight and early Tuesday.
