Strong, gusty west to southwest winds will continue in central and southeastern Wyoming today. Some areas of the southeast and some stretches of I-80 could have wind gusts near 60 mph at times. The wind is expected to subside a bit later tonight and then redevelop again on Tuesday.
Winter weather including snow and even some fog has now moved into western Wyoming. Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the western third of the state as well as for the Big Horns and around Sheridan. Six up to 12″ of snow and locally heavie
With the exception of the west, the state will still be under the influence of high pressure today through the first half of Friday. In the northwest a cold front starts to move in today which will lead to mixed showers and snow.
With high pressure still in control of our weather, there will not be much happening on the weather front for the next several days. Now through Wednesday expect continued mostly sunny to sunny skies, dry conditions and very mild November temperatures statewide.
With the exception of the far north, which could see a few very light showers later today and again Sunday, the weather will be dry statewide now through Sunday. High pressure is in control and will dominate our weather for the next several days.
With high pressure in control of the weather statewide, it will be dry and settled on the weather front for the last couple of days of October. It will be breezy at times in the south along some stretches of I-80, with quiet conditions elsewhere.
Northwest Wyoming will see a few light mixed showers and some mountain snow over the next couple of days. Elsewhere the weather will be dry and quiet. High pressure will dominate the weather across much of the state for the new several days.
Another weather disturbance is passing through the state. As a result, snow showers have started back up again in the west. The scattered snow showers will spread east and fill into the rest of the state this afternoon, tonight and into Friday morning.
Rain showers have started in the Big Horn Basin, fog is rolling into portions of northeast Wyoming and snow is starting to fall in the west. Heavy snow and freezing fog is making for difficult traveling conditions in the southwest.
