He has spent a lifetime obsessed with all things Rock & Roll.  Dave has written for a variety of publications including Shindig!, Bucketful Of Brains, The Cleveland Scene and The Cleveland Plain Dealer. He hosts his own radio show, has promoted concerts and played in several bands including, but not limited to, Rainy Day Saints, New Salem Witch Hunters, The Cynics, Chamber Strings, Guided By Voices, Death Of Samantha, and Captain Groovy & His Bubblegum Army.   Favorite bands-Cheap Trick, The Monkees, Sparks, Motorhead, Beach Boys, Rockpile, XTC,Van Der Graaf Generator, Sweet, Bob Dylan,etc. Favortie color- paisley. Sign-Scorpio. Favorite Movies-Love And Death, Don't Look Back & Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls.  Political party-Mod & Rocker. Religion-Rock & Roll. His biggest regret is having no regrets. If not playing, writing, reading about, listening to, or discussing music, he is most likely dead.

The Monkees Deliver Rock ‘n’ Roll, Nostalgia and Plenty of Smiles in Cleveland – Concert Review

At their triumphant show at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium on Nov. 17, the Monkees were indeed 'too busy singing to put anybody down' as their nearly 30-song set proved. Nostalgia is a crazy creature. It taunts and teases as it pulls a tear, and tries its best to give you that warm all over glow. It can be both good and bad. Thankfully in the hands of the Monkees, it was all good. This was a show custom made for the diehard fans, nothing less and certainly a lot more.

Released thirty-five years ago, 'Rocket to Russia' was to have been the Ramones big breakthrough -- the album to put them on the radio, in the charts and in the hearts of rock and rollers everywhere! As we all know ... that never happened. Despite the random attempts over the years to re-write rock and roll history via 'rockumentaries,' the truth is, most of America couldn't have cared less about the Ramones. 1977 was all about Kiss, Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, and so on. Most U.S. teens were simply not interested in the propulsive three-minute blasts of energy dished out at sonic speed by four misfits from NYC.

48 Years Ago – The Rolling Stones Banned from the Ed Sullivan Show

Forty eight years ago, the Rolling Stones made their first appearance on 'The Ed Sullivan Show.' The date was October 25, 1964 and Sullivan was on a roll. Earlier in the year he brought the Beatles into our living rooms, followed by the Dave Clark Five. Soon enough, every invading British rock band was making their way to the CBS studios for their moment in the spotlight.
