Dave Madden, beloved star of the classic television series 'The Partridge Family,' has passed away at the age of 83. Madden played the role of the family's oft put-upon band manager Reuben Kincaid, who often was annoyed by the shenanigans of young Danny, played by former child star Danny Bonaduce. Madden was also the star of the '70s show 'Laugh-In.'
It didn't take very long for things to get downright nutty at tonight's Golden Globe awards. Following a hilarious opening from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and a super awkward but totally endearing acceptance speech from Jennifer Lawrence, veteran actress Jacqueline Bisset took the stage to accept an award for Best Supporting Actress for a mini-series or TV movie for her performance in 'Dancing on the Edge.' And then things got pretty crazy.
Lionsgate has just dropped the official first teaser for 'The Expendables 3,' and the gang's all here! Actually, there's even more gang to go around this time out, as every new sequel seems to just pack on increasingly awesome star power -- Harrison Ford, anyone? That's right, Indiana Jones and Han Solo himself has signed up for the action and you can see him alongside the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in this amazing line-up!
As previously reported, Sacha Baron Cohen has been working on a James Bond-style spy spoof over at Paramount, and today we're pleased to relay that the project not only has a title, but a director as well. 'Now You See Me' helmer Louis Leterrier has been chosen to tackle this not-so-top-secret and -- judging by the talent involved -- hopefully very hilarious upcoming new job.
The battle between the 2014 Hercules films continues today with the debut of the trailer for Renny Harlin's upcoming 'Hercules: The Legend Begins,' starring 'Twilight' star Kellan Lutz as the legendary Greek hero. The first trailer is, as we imagined, packed with plenty of shots that call to mind Zack Snyder's '300,' which has become the blueprint for films that involve Greek myth and war.
It's no easy task casting the role of an iconic star for a biopic, but we think this choice might be pretty inspired. We learned last week that a biopic on the life of comedic actor John Belushi is in the works, with Emile Hirsch, Joaquin Phoenix and 'Girls' star Adam Driver's names being tossed around. And today we've gotten confirmation that Hirsch has been chosen to take the lead in the upcoming unnamed biopic from writer and director Steven Conrad.
Zack Snyder did some filming on Saturday night in L.A. for 'Batman vs. Superman,' which is what Warner Bros. themselves referred to as the title. The filming took place at a football game, set up at Weingart Stadium, which serves as the set of the Gotham City University home stadium. The Gotham City team, in black and gold, was playing against the Metropolis State University team, in red and white. If we've learned anything from 'The Dark Knight Rises,' no football game is safe as long as Batman is around.
During this evening's panel for AMC's 'The Walking Dead' at New York Comic-Con, the creators finally announced who will be playing fan favorite characters Eugene and Abraham in the upcoming fourth season of the series. Joining the rest of the cast on the stage were Josh McDermitt, who will play Eugene, and Michael Cudlitz, who will play Abraham in an upcoming arc.
Bad news, '50 Shades of Grey' fans: Charlie Hunnam has cracked the whip and dropped out of playing Christian Grey in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the beloved softcore novel. We're not sure how you'll break this news to your mothers, but our thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
Though Neill Blomkamp's 'Elysium' didn't exactly hit a home run at the box office this summer, the director is already working on his follow-up film: a sci-fi comedy called 'Chappie.' Blomkamp regular Sharlto Copley will star alongside androgynous South African music duo Die Antwoord in the film, which has just added mega-star Hugh Jackman to the cast.
We haven't seen much from 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' -- we know that the Dinobots will somehow be involved, and that all of our favorite transforming robots will be back to kick ass alongside Mark Wahlberg and a new cast of characters. Speaking of which, Michael Bay has offered up our first look at the humans in the film with a brand new, official image.
While everyone is still debating whether or not Ben Affleck will make a good Batman in Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel 2,' which will feature a "Batman vs. Superman" element, we can tell you who was almost cast: Josh Brolin, who confirms that he was considered for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming sequel. Obviously, it didn't work out, but Brolin doesn't have any hard feelings about it.
