Are The New Stop Lights Being Installed On Poplar A Good Thing? [POLL, PHOTOS]
Driving down Poplar last week, I darn near caused an accident. I had never seen (or noticed, at least) the new 4-way stop lights that had been installed. As I passed it doing 35 mph, I had to stop and wonder: had I just run a red light? Of course after looking in my rearview mirror, I saw they weren't active yet, which got me to thinking. I have always thought the intersection at Poplar & Midwest needed a light there. I have seen quite a few accidents at that exact spot over the years and I think having the light there will (hopefully) rectify that. But after talking with a few different people, I found that everyone doesn't share that sentiment. The general consensus is that it will only make traffic worse. I do agree it will probably slow down what passes for rush hour traffic here, but faster isn't always better. What do you think though?
