DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Saint Mary's and North Carolina A&T are the first two winners in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Matthew Dellavedova scored 22 points and Saint Mary's moved into the second round with a 67-54 win over Middle Tennessee. Dellavedova shot 5-for-7 from three-point range and finished with four assists and six rebounds as the Gaels earned the right to take on sixth-seeded Memphis on Thursday.

North Carolina A&T had been 0-9 all time in the NCAA tournament until backup Jeremy Underwood scored 19 points in the Aggies' 73-72 win over Liberty.

Bruce Beckford had 16 points and Lamont Middleton added 14 to help the 29-5 Aggies earn the right to face top-seeded Louisville Thursday in Lexington, Ky.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Louisville assistant Kareem Richardson has been hired as the basketball coach at Missouri-Kansas City, where he was an assistant in 2007-08.

The 38-year-old coach takes over for Matt Brown, who was fired after five seasons with the Kangaroos, who are leaving the Summit League for the Western Athletic Conference next season.
