A perfect anything is remarkable. Perfect game in bowling. To pitch a perfect game. One of my relatives actually pitched a perfect game. Tommy Browning. So to be perfect in any sporting event is a remarkable event. Tonight one University of Wyoming Cowboy basketball player did exactly that. Wyoming Junior Guard Nathan Sobey was perfect in everything he did on the floor. And the University of Wyoming Cowboys Basketball team (18-10, 4-10) lost to the Air Force Academy Falcons (16-10, 10-6) 72-66. The Cowboys losing again yet another Conference game on the road.

Sobey finished with a career high 22 points, was perfect from the field, perfect from the land of three (5-5), perfect from the free throw line. But for some reason his team mates could not find him late in the game when it really counted. And though Senior Forward Leonard Washington had another double double the Cowboys could not find a way to win. WHY? Lets quote head coach Larry Shyatt. "The worst defensive performance I've ever seen as a head coach or as an assistant." "I owe it to the media and even to the fans of Wyoming to call it as I see it and this was just not it. The worst defensive performance I've ever seen."  That's pretty blunt. Pretty down to earth analysis of his team's performance.

And things don't get any easier for these young kids. Cowboys have to go on the road to play the New Mexico Lobos Saturday, at 3pm. The game can be heard on our sister station AM 1030 KTWO. Go Pokes
