Accident on Poplar Street Bridge in Casper

There has been an accident on the bridge over the North Platte just before Poplar Street.

There were no serious injuries, but traffic in both directions is down to one lane for the time being.

According to Officer Scott Jones, a man was eating a sandwich while driving, looked up too late and saw he was approaching a line of stopped cars.

To avoid an accident, he turned into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head on.

Again, there were no serious injuries.
