82 years ago today, the repeal of Prohibition officially went into effect. It's National Beer Day, and to celebrate, here's a toast to all 20 of Wyoming's breweries. We might not have as many breweries as most other states have, but we've got some of the best.

Did you know that Wyoming based breweries have won 48 medals at the Great American Beer Festival, dating all the way back to 1983? According to Wyomingnews.com, local brewers have claimed an impressive 18 gold medals at the country's largest craft brewing event.

Recent medal winners include the Thai Me Up Restaurant and Brewery (formerly the Melvin Brewery) from Jackson, Black Tooth Brewing Company from Sheridan, Wind River Brewing from Pinedale and the state's largest craft brewery, Jackson's Snake River Brewing. Last year, Thai Me Up won three medals, including golds for their 2X4 Imperial IPA and the Melvin IPA, which the website firstwefeast.com recently ranked as the best beer in Wyoming.

Whether you're tossing back a cold one at Sanford's Grub and Pub Brewery or Wyoming State Brewing at the Wonder Bar in Casper, Freedom's Edge or Shadow's in Cheyenne, the Altitude Brewery or the Library in Laramie, cheers!  Happy National Beer Day.
