Have you ever been doing something and have a friend comment: ” I’ve heard you can… blah, blah, blah”? Sometimes said blahs are true. Often though, they’re just old wives tales or more appropriately, internet dribble.
Enter John Green and his highly popular YouTube page: Mental Floss. There are several fact-filled and enjoyable videos there, none more popular then his ’30 Life Hacks Debunked’ series. In the first episode, John tackles many things, from attempting to remove a wine cork with just a hammer and a nail (FAIL) to cutting an onion without crying by chewing gum (PASS). Other notable passing life hacks are dunking Oreos in milk using a fork and cutting cheese (no pun intended) with unscented dental floss.
