2013 Riverfest August 24th in Casper

Riverfest in Casper offers fantastic food, rockin’ live music, micro-brew tasting, family fun activities, and of course the Casper Rotary’s Great Duck Derby.  2013 Riverfest will take place Saturday, August 24th, 11 AM –  5 PM. at Crossroads Playground.

Riverfest is back for another day of family fun.  This year’s event will feature a new component.  There will some fun runs and fun rides to participate in the morning, before the event begins.  There will be a Windy City Striders Fun Run, email Denise Murphy – murphco7@juno.com for info.  Casper Cycling Club Family Ride, email caspercyclingclub@gmail.com for info.  Fat Fish Casual Single Track Tour, email Gordon Edwards, buzzwired@excite.com, for info.  Also taking place, Healthy Life Studio Morning Yoga at the Pumphouse , call 472-1962 for info, and a Casper Disk Golf 8 Hole Run.

The event itself is jam packed with funtastic activities.  This year will feature a variety of wonderful food vendors this year to choose from including Arrowhead Catering, La Cocina, The Dashing Dish, and Cold Stone Creamery.  This year’s microbrew tasting has a little something for everyone with samplings of Sam Adams, New Belgium, Avery Brewing, Boulevard Street, Alaskan Brewing Blue Moon Brewing, Wyoming Brewing Co., Big Sky Brewing, Deschutes Brewery, Sierra Nevada, O’Dell Brewing, Snake River Brewing, Boulder Beer, and Mike’s Hard Lemonade to name a few.  Come out and taste some of these great regional micro-brews and vote for your favorite brew in our People’s Choice award.  A 12 oz. microbrew is $4.00 and a 4 oz taster is $1.00.  Steve Frame and his Western Rebels will kick off the musical lineup for Riverfest followed by Casper’s favorite Inda Eaton.  Last but not least, Casper Rotary’s Great Duck Derby is an essential part of the fun at Riverfest.  Purchase a Duck Ticket for $20 and you have a chance to win great prizes.  You can purchase your tickets through Platte River Trails at the Tate Pumphouse Trail Center or by e-mailing platteriver@wyoming.com or calling 577-1206.
