#16 Bulldogs Bulldoze Cowboys, 48-10
The 16th-ranked Fresno State Bulldogs stayed perfect on the season, as they rolled over the Wyoming Cowboys 48-10 Saturday night at War Memorial Stadium. Derek Carr threw for 360 yards and four touchdowns, as Fresno State kept their dreams of busting the BCS alive.
Wyoming jumped out to a 10-0 lead, but the Bulldogs rattled off 48 unanswered points and piled up 600 yards of total offense.
Carr connected with Marcel Jensen from 9-yards out and Isaiah Burse from 19 yards out in the second quarter, as Fresno State took a 14-10 lead at half. Carr tossed two more t-d passes in the second half, one to Jensen and another to Davante Adams. Marteze Waller, Josh Quezada and Brian Burrell added scores on the ground for the Bulldogs.
Fresno State (9-0, 6-0) finished with 234 yards on the ground, which included 105 from Quezada. They held the Cowboys to 296 yards on offense, which is 220 yards below what UW came into the game averaging.
Wyoming (4-5, 2-3) scored on a Brett Smith to Shaun Wick 1-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. That came after a 79-yard scamper by Tedder Easton. Stuart Williams added a 27-yard field goal for the 10-0 lead with 12:53 left in the second quarter. The Pokes had gained 156 yards at that point. They managed only 140 more and turned it over twice.
Smith threw for only 141 yards, while Easton added 90 yards rushing. Jordan Stanton led the defense with 17 tackles.
The Cowboys return to action next Saturday at Boise State. Kick-off is at 8:15 p.m. Mountain time.
