Moms are super-human. They handle careers, kids, houses, husbands – and somehow find time to get it all done. With Mother’s Day coming up – we think your Mom needs a break, with 107.9 The River’s Hiatus From Housework! So, without further ado, submitted now for public voting, our “Hiatus fro Housework” submissions:

My mother deserves a hiatus from housework simply because she’s never received one. Unlike other hardworking moms out there though, in the past 3 years she’s been through 4 major surgeries, resulting in scar tissue build-up that caused ripping in her abdomen and a re-entrance on her long healed c-section scar. Also, she’s developed hernias because she still continues to clean, cook, and work 45+ hours a week at a stressful job involving a very difficult population of people. She does not get any help at home, as I and my older sister are grown and out of the house. Her once immaculate cleaning standards have fallen due to simple inability to keep up cleaning while recovering from surgeries (her last one a couple of weeks ago, and due to a new hernia, another will be needed shortly). She volunteers as her church, works with a needy population and still finds time to keep her home in decent order. Please, give this incredible woman a break from the mundane routine! My mommy deserves a hiatus from housework because not only is she a full time student but a single mom to me and my sister. between school and home work she doesn’t have alot of time so a break from houswork would be the best gift ever! Thank you for the opportunity! (Submitted by Vanessa R.)
